Dear Parents/Guardians:

Academy West would like to extend an invitation for you and your student to participate in a financial aid information session/workshop. During this session, you and your student will have an opportunity to review the financial aid process and complete the Financial Aid Form for Student Application (FAFSA). Refreshments will be provided.

Senior year of high school is an exciting, busy time in which you may begin having serious conversations about college costs, or how to secure financial aid for college. Although it may seem stressful or confusing, taking action early can simplify the process for your family.

With that in mind, we encourage you to attend the workshop and complete the FAFSA application as soon as possible. In order to receive Michigan funds for college, the application must be submitted before March 1, 2022. Also, because limited amounts of student aid are available, the earlier a FAFSA is filed, the better. Some financial aid is awarded on a first-come first-served basis, so waiting until Spring may cause you to miss out on funds you would have otherwise received. Additionally, early applications are more likely to qualify for federal, state, and college-offered grants.

Information regarding the event and what you will need to bring with you is below.
