Attention Academy West community! We are thrilled to announce that our school has been selected as a recipient of the 2023 Rainbow Library, donated by GLSEN. The Rainbow Library includes 10 LBGTQ+ books, all written by POC authors and featuring diverse characters. These books span multiple genres, from mystery to sports fiction to autobiography, and address important topics such as systemic racism, microaggressions, and phobias towards different religions and cultures.
To
promote literacy and inclusivity, the Rainbow Library will be housed in two areas of the building. We are excited to offer this valuable resource to our students and look forward to fostering a more inclusive and accepting school community.
